These folks did such a great job. I have had so many Foundation folks ghost me, string me along, or try to sell me solutions I didn't need build smart were responsive, gave me a quote in a reasonable amount of time and finished the job looking like they were never there. They were ready to go within a week of getting permits. Highly recommended! 🤩

Would strongly recommend! We hired build, smart Masonry & Roofing to waterproof our back home wall, fixing 2 cracks and installing 2 window wells. The entire process was fantastic. Peter was clear, honest, and considerate in his advice from the time of the first estimate and the crew were a fun bunch with plenty of knowledge and care for the work (e.g. ensured our lilac trees were safe and were happy to answer all our questions).

My experience from start to finish was nothing short of exceptional, especially due to the outstanding management by Peter our project manager. Our project involved basement underpinning, the construction of a basement addition, and the installation of a polished concrete floor. From our first interaction, Peter exhibited a level of professionalism that instantly put me at ease. During the project assessment and the estimate phase, he was thorough, providing a detailed and informative breakdown of the process, which I found to be fairly priced given the scope and quality of work proposed. While the project did take a bit longer than initially anticipated, it was for a good reason. We hired build, smart Masonry and Roofing to repair our foundation recently. Cracks were visible in the foundation and in the brick veneer. A test pit dug in one day and analysis of soil samples was conducted by engineers Peter, explained what needed to be done and how long it would take. He took care of everything including dealing with the city for permits and with the consulting engineers regarding the needed repair. He also suggested how to proceed to get a large tree on my front lawn removed. This was a major project that required the excavation down to the footings across the entire front of the house, partway down the sides and inside the garage. It was gratifying to work with a group of knowledge workers. Everyone on the team knew their role every step of the way and helped move things along. There was no idle time with obvious collaboration among the workers. All our neighbours came by to comment how good these workers were, how clean their work was, how they were attentive to minimize disruption in the neighborhood. Communication from Peter and the crew about current status and what to expect next was excellent from beginning to end. The work was planned as a two-week project that was delivered on time and on budget. We are very pleased with the results and would recommend build a smart Masonry & Roofing to anyone in need of foundation repair.
Build Smart replaced the roof over the porch and a bay. Work was completed on budget and on time. The result is a significant improvement on the previous ones and have raised the tone of the property!
After getting lots of quotes, went with Build Smart after a neighbor’s recommendation. Peter made me feel confident in their work and was such a nice guy. Their team was here 7am to 7pm for 7 days in a row to finish the job. They were such hard workers and the project looks great! Can’t recommend Built Smart enough.
Peter and his crew just finished a pretty big masonry job in my basement. They smoothed over my 150-year old stone and mortar foundation, and shored up a few walls that were on the verge of crumbling. They also insulated a difficult crawl space that will improve our comfort on the first floor. I’m really pleased with the work! They were on time, disciplined, skilled and left everything clean and in good order. I would definitely hire them again.

This company was Awesome. (Peter)was Knowledgeable, very polite, punctual, efficient and met all set deadlines. He told me he was going to contact me prior to the start date and did so a couple a days before to confirm the timeline. He cut out a door opening for our sliding door, did the framework and did the brick masonry around the door with our brick that he removed. His work was flawless and he helped us out in keeping cost low by reusing our brick. The result looks wonderful and none would be the wiser that the sliding door isn't original.

Unreal service and workmanship. Crew worked two weekends in a row as I needed work to a collapsing wall before the rigours of winter made it worse. They squeezed me into their schedule last minute to help out. Worked the weekends and did an unreal job! Their price was way less than the other 2 quotes I received for work that would have been completed in the spring by the other companies.
I needed my roof done in a very tight window that a lot of different companies said they couldn’t do. Peter on the other hand promised this could be done and delivered on this. Very quick and more importantly good quality work.
Build, smart Masonry & Roofing just waterproofed our house yesterday. Peter came by a couple of weeks ago to take a look at our job and it was obvious that he knew what he was talking about. He discussed all of the possible scenarios and options based on his knowledge and experience working on other properties in the neighborhood. He was flexible and willing to listen to our needs and desires and respected our opinion. He pointed out the pros and cons of each option and quoted us for two different scenarios depending on what his crew found when they dug down. We had a retaining wall and fence post that might be in the way and we really wanted them to try and limit the disruption in that area. He made no promises and I did as much as I could to clear their path by removing my deck and fortunately they were able to navigate the fence post and retaining wall without just bulldozing their way through which would have been the path of least resistance for them. Our project was also complicated by the fact that our neighbor has a renovation ongoing and it just so happened that they were having their HVAC installed on the same day Peter crew was flexible and successfully communicated with the neighboring crew and they both got their respective jobs done. Most impressively when game day arrived they brought in 12 guys and completed they job which was about 240 linear feet in 3 days Done and dusted! There was one minor thing I wanted them to address and they were back the next day to deal with it to my satisfaction. I could not be happier with their service! Peter Dad, and team are the best! 💫
